I wanted to get into a decent 5-String for a reasonable price
and this was it. The BG-5 is a very warm sounding bass. I like
the fact that it has a very thin distance between the fingerboard
and the back of the neck. Unfortunately, the G&L 5-String necks
are kinda like grabbing a hold of a log -- or I might have one of
those too. I bought it after leaving the last band I was in so, I've
never actually played it on a gig. As a matter of fact, I've never
even played with any type of live ensemble with it at all! I have
used it in the studio and I think it sounds great. It's a very
reasonably priced bass and I would definitely recomend to anyone
to at least take a look at a Godin.
